Santa Pawtraits

Christmas is nearly here which means if you haven’t already booked your pet photos with Santa it’s time to get moving! Why would I want my pet to have their photo taken with Santa you might ask? Well, apart from making an adorable pic for the photo album and getting dozens of warm and fuzzy “awwwws” on social media, how else will Santa know what to get your pet for Christmas?! Maybe he wants food treats, or perhaps she wants a squeaky toy. Clearly there’s only one way to find out.

It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about the great work being done by various rescue centres and animal shelters attending some of the photo sessions and help throw your support behind them. Sessions at most Westfield shopping centres have already sold out for 2018, but there are still a few venues left in and around Brisbane where you can get your pet photographed with the jolly man in red. Take a look at our list below.

Happy Christmas from The House Call Vet!

Pet photos with Santa

Gasworks Plaza

76 Skyring Terrace, Newstead (outside Woolworths)
Saturdays until Dec 22, 8am-1pm

Free, online bookings recommended

Just moments from the uber-hip James St shopping precinct in Fortitude Valley, Gasworks Plaza is offering free pet photos with Santa this year. Get some fancy Christmas shopping done while you’re there or take your pet for a walk along the Brisbane River around this trendy neck of the Brisbane woods.

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre

Santa World, Level 1, (near Coles)
Sundays until Dec 23, 7.30am-9.30am

Free, online bookings required

At Indooroopilly Shopping Centre’s free Santa World, take your pet through the beautiful maze of twinkling fairy lights and Christmas decorations before shaking paws with Christmas’s head honcho. Santa’s little helpers will then send you a free digital photo to your email address within minutes to add to the family yearbook and share on social media. Printed packages are also available to purchase on the day.

While you’re there, check out the RSPCA Sit Drop Shop pop-up shop on Level 3 near Myer where you can play with adoption animals looking for a new home, browse RSPCA stationery, giftware, apparel and pet supplies and let the kids play in the children’s activity space.

Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown

Level 4 (near Best & Less)
Saturdays until Dec 22, 2.30pm-4.30pm

From $10, no bookings required

The good folk at Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown are donating $2 from every pet photo with Santa to the RSPCA this year. Sensibly, they ask that pets be taken in and out of the centre on a lead or in an appropriate carrier and that owners bring equipment to clean up any accidents. After all, you don’t want to get on the naughty list!

Stockland’s Sovereign Pocket

113 Sovereign Drive, Deebing Heights
Saturday Dec 8, 10.30am

FREE printed or digital photo, no bookings required

Not only can you get a free pic of your pet with Santa, but watch jolly old St Nick and his helpful elf arrive by train from 9.30am and join in for a morning of free family fun with trackless train rides and more. Kids can have their photos taken from 9.30am followed by pets at 10.30am. Winning!

PetBarn Maroochydore

Saturday December 15, 9.30am-2pm
$10 donation with all funds going to QSAR charity to help dogs in need.

Book online or simply turn up on the day

Queensland Staffy and Armstaff Rescue is teaming up with PetBarn again this year to offer pet photos with Santa. While you’re there enjoy a sausage sizzle, take part in the raffle and consider buying some QSAR merchandise for stocking fillers this Christmas.
